Are you curious to know how to safely use Bluetooth in Lenovo G460 laptop?

Lenovo G460 is a laptop with LED backlit display. The screen size of the laptop is 15.6 inch screen. The laptop has 4 GB RAM and 500 GB hard drive. Lenovo G460 laptop comes preloaded with Windows 7 operating system. For network connectivity, the laptop has Bluetooth version 2.1. Lenovo G460 laptop also has 2 megapixel webcam and dual layer DVD burner. Bluetooth technology enables communication between two devices without the use of any wire. The Bluetooth technology can be used to transfer data from Lenovo G460 to other devices and vice versa. In order to do this, you need to press FN and F5 simultaneously. Once this is done, you can turn on or turn off Bluetooth from the available options in the menu.

The following things need to be kept in mind while using Bluetooth in your Lenovo G460 laptop:

  • Turn off Bluetooth after use
  • Use paired devices
  • Protect with pass code

Turn off Bluetooth after use

Turn on Bluetooth in your Lenovo G460 laptop, only when it is necessary. If you are finished with transferring data, then you need to switch it off. Switching off Bluetooth after use has its own merits. Your computer will be secure from various threats that may creep into through Bluetooth connectivity. When the Bluetooth is turned on, it also consumes some battery power.

Use paired devices

While using Bluetooth in your Lenovo G460 laptop, you may receive requests from unfamiliar sources. In such a case, you need to reject them. If you are familiar with a device, then add it to your paired devices. Also install security updates in your Lenovo G460 laptop to make sure that the files obtained through Bluetooth are free from infections.

Protect with pass code

If you want to transfer data from Lenovo G460 laptop to another laptop or Bluetooth enable device, then you need to protect it with a pass code. A pass code is a four digit number that you need to set in your laptop. The same pass code needs to be entered in another laptop to facilitate Bluetooth connectivity.

Hi! I have a Lenovo g460 and I have bought it almost 2yrs ago. It works great except for the bluetooth device (it’s built-in). When I start it up, the Bluetooth device will say “Bluetooth license device not found.” I can’t transfer datas from a cellphone. Why is it? Please help. I don’t know what the problem is, I’m pretty sure I did not delete anything regarding the device. Hope you can help me. Have a great day (or night!)

Check if you have enabled Bluetooth:
      1. Slide the integrated wireless device switch to turn it on.
      2. Press Fn + F5 to make configuration.

If you’ve tried enabling Bluetooth already, I would recommend you reinstall the Bluetooth driver.
You can download the driver for your computer from http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/driversdownloads/drivers_list.aspx?categoryid=880973 by selecting the Operating System from the drop down list given for it.
