Once you’ve set up the physical connection, you will need to change the default sound playback device from the laptop’s speaker to HDMI (assuming that you used an HDMI cable to connect the TV):
1. Go to “Start> Control Panel> Sound”.
2. Go to the ‘Playback’ tab.
3. Right click the TV or HDMI and click ‘Set Default’.
4. Click OK.
If you do not see the device in the list, right click the blank area below the list and click ‘Show Disabled Devices’. If it shows up, enable it and then set it as default.
