- Update the network adapter
- Replace router antenna
Proper driver installation
Check if the driver is properly installed on your Lenovo IdeaPad Z560. You could check the driver installation by right clicking on ‘My Computer’ and then clicking on ‘Properties’. Then in the System Properties window select the ‘Hardware’ tab. There you would be able to see if the wireless card is installed or not. Then you could reinstall if it has not been installed.
Update the network adapter
A network adapter allows a computing device to interface with a Local Area Network. Adapters are required components so as to include when building a network. On board network adapters work very well in Lenovo IdeaPad Z560. But in case you are using a card adapter, try getting one which has an external antenna. This would help fix wireless problem.
The antenna supplied with your router are designed to be omni-directional, which means they broadcast in all directions around the router. Most routers do not allow you to increase the power output, but you could make better use of the power. Upgrade to a hi-gain antenna that focuses the wireless signals only in one direction. You could aim the signal in the direction you need.
