- Pairing with Devices
How to Operate Bluetooth
In order to operate Bluetooth in your laptop, you are first required to equip it with a Bluetooth module. After this, you are required to turn it on so as to be able to activate your Bluetooth facility. On enabling the Bluetooth facility, an icon appears on the lower-right corner of your display screen. Right-clicking the icon provides a menu option where you have a provision to turn the Bluetooth on and off in your laptop.
Install a Bluetooth Module
As your Lenovo ThinkPad SL410 does not come with a Bluetooth card, you are required to install a Bluetooth module in your system hardware so as to avail the Bluetooth facility. The Lenovo ThinkPad SL410 provides you with an optional Bluetooth which can be configured in your system. While installing the Bluetooth module, you must ensure that it is a model that is supported by your Lenovo laptop.
After installing a Bluetooth module in your laptop, you must install the latest drivers available for your module. A few drivers are available in the Support page provided in the Lenovo website. Alternatively, you could download these drivers from the vendor website of the Bluetooth card manufacturer. These drivers are required to be compatible with both your installed Bluetooth module as well as your system hardware.
Be careful when pairing your laptop with other Bluetooth devices. In order to do this, you are required to turn on the Bluetooth and then pair your laptop with the required device. Both the devices are to be set to the discovery mode in order to be detected while searching. They are also required to be within a permissible distance so as to enable the connection.
