Recovery Partition in Lenovo® ThinkPad T410 Laptop
Lenovo ThinkPad T410 is a light weight and attractive laptop. Its high configuration makes multi-tasking easy, which means that you can install many programs and work on them at the same time. Lenovo ThinkPad T410 has a hard disk drive of 320 GB, which is divided into different partitions. An image of the operating system and driver programs are saved to one partition that is known as the recovery partition. This image contains back up of the operating system, drivers and some applications, which were pre-installed on Lenovo ThinkPad T410. So do not format or make any changes to the recovery partition because it is one of the most important tools which is used to recovery the system in case of system failure.
- OS reinstallation
- Restore factory settings
- Less time consumption
There are some common issues that can occur in computes like viruses, operating system crash, system files missing etc. Many updated antivirus programs are available in the market which are able to protect your computer from the latest threats, but sometimes all your attempts of removing virus fails and might have to re-format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system. Likewise there are several tools available to fix Windows errors and to overcome system crash but at times all those tools fail and you are left no options other than re-formatting the hard drive. In all such cases you can press the ‘F11’ key during the start up process to reach a recovery screen. You just need to select the option ‘Restore to factory settings’ and it automatically formats the hard drive and the image file from the recovery partition is extracted to the active partition and operating system is reinstalled.
Restore factory settings
In normal cases you need a technical expert to recovery your computer because you might not be sure how to recover the computer. By the use of the recovery partition Lenovo has come up with the feature called ‘Restore to factory settings’ with which you can restore the computer to the factory defaults by following easy instructions.
Reformatting and reinstallation of the operating system is a time consuming process, you need to format the hard drive, insert the operating system’s bootable disc, install OS, install drivers etc. This whole process is made easy and less time consuming with the use of recovery partition. You don’t need to search for the OS and driver CDs because an image of the operating system and the drivers are saved in recovery partition.
